Syntikk is a software company headquartered in Kigali, Rwanda. We are responsible for the personal information collected through this website and decide how it is used.

Information you provide

• Project enquiries. Your name, email address and, if you choose to provide them, your company, the services you are interested in, an estimated budget and a description of your project.
• Newsletter. Your email address, if you subscribe.
• Direct correspondence. Anything you send us by email, telephone or WhatsApp, together with the contact details you use to reach us.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our servers record basic technical information when pages are requested: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, the referring page and the date and time of each request. We use this to operate and secure the website.

We also store a small record of your cookie choices in your browser. See Cookies and similar technologies below.

We use personal information to:

• respond to your enquiry and prepare proposals or estimates you request;
• deliver and manage services under an agreement with you or your organisation;
• send our newsletter, where you have subscribed;
• operate, maintain and protect the security of this website;
• comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making.

Depending on the context, we rely on one or more of the following:

• Consent, for the newsletter and for any optional cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time.
• Contract, where processing is needed to take steps at your request before entering into an agreement, or to perform one.
• Legitimate interests, such as responding to business enquiries and keeping the website secure, where these are not overridden by your rights.
• Legal obligation, where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.

Cookies and similar technologies, such as local storage, are small pieces of data stored by your browser. We use only what is strictly necessary to operate the website unless you agree otherwise.

We do not currently set analytics or advertising cookies. Should we introduce analytics, it will run only after you have opted in, and this table will be updated.

You can review or change your choice at any time through cookie settings, also available at the foot of every page. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies; doing so may mean we ask for your preferences again.

We share personal information only where necessary, with:

• service providers who host the website or provide email and communication services on our behalf, under obligations of confidentiality and security;
• professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, where required;
• authorities, where we are required to do so by law;
• a successor organisation, if our business is reorganised or transferred, under the protections described in this policy.

If you contact us through WhatsApp or follow a link to a social network, that service processes your information under its own privacy policy.

Our team and service providers may be located outside Rwanda, including in the United States. Where personal information is transferred across borders, we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection, as required by applicable law.

• Enquiries are kept for up to two years after our last contact, unless they lead to an engagement, in which case they are kept for the duration of that engagement and any period required by law.
• Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
• Server logs are kept for up to 90 days, unless needed to investigate a security incident.

When information is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymised.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including encrypted connections to this website. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond promptly to any incident.

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

• access the personal information we hold about you;
• have inaccurate information corrected;
• have your information deleted, or its use restricted;
• object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
• receive your information in a portable format;
• withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@syntikk.com. We will respond within the time required by law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Rwanda, the National Cyber Security Authority, or the data protection authority where you live.

This website is intended for businesses and professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Where changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to let you know. See also our Terms of Use.
